Alabama Civic Chorale Founded in 1948 as the Bessemer Civic Chorale, the Alabama Civic Chorale (ACC) is a group of musicians dedicated to enriching the lives of others through the presentation of choral music of the masters. Composed of 100 members from over 50 churches and choirs across the state, the ACC is a non-auditioned fine and performing arts chorus that allows those with a desire to participate to join. The ACC has performed around the state and for national conventions. Its annual performance of Handel's Messiah accompanied by the Alabama Symphony is a treasured Christmas tradition in Hoover. Participation in the chorale has inspired many of its members to begin careers as church choir directors, accompanists, professors of music and soloists. For more information on the Alabama Civic Chorale, contact Bebe Kok Clark, director, at 914-3524 or visit the ACC website at www.alabamacivicchorale.com. |
