Window # 8

   Disciple:              St. James the Greater: (Apostle, Martyr)  The patron of Spain and of pilgrims. He is mentioned as the first
                              of the disciples to go on a missionary journey. The escallop shells refer to pilgrimage.

  Biblical Scene:      While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the disciples,
                               and said, "Take, eat; this is my body." Then he took the cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, saying;
                               "Drink from it, all of you; for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the
                               forgiveness of sins." (Matthew 26: 26-28)

  Cross:                   The Calvary Cross: Sometimes called the Graded Cross. The three steps, from the top down, stand for
                                Faith, Hope, Love. (The Calvary Cross is also found on the altar.)
